Passenger Coaches

The Trust has helped with the purchase of a number of British Railways Mk1 coaches.

Built in the 1950s the Mk1 could be found on all main line trains across the country often in BRs Blood and Custard colour scheme, but the Western Region used the former GWR chocolate and cream scheme for many of theirs!

In later years the standard blue and grey prevailed on the main line Railway.

The Coach ‘Mary’ currently part of our Chocolate and Cream set is one such coach, named after Mary a long-standing volunteer and former Director of the Trust, is one of the coaches purchased through Grant Funding.
