The Crossover Points just south of Toddington Station linking Platform 1 with the main running line had been subject to a 5-mph speed restriction for some time.
The Track Engineer was concerned that the rails would deteriorate further during 2022 meaning replacement had to be done during the 2021 /22 winter maintenance period to avoid disrupting the Railway’s operations during the running season.
With the Railways own Track Gang committed to work elsewhere during this maintenance period the Trust made a grant to the Plc so the crossover could be professionally replaced, thus ensuring the sustainability of our Railway.
